Chelsie B. Deusa
Ms. Deusa joined Hostetter Strent in 2022. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Deusa was a law clerk to the Honorable Michael J. McAuliffe at the Montgomery County Circuit Court. During her clerkship, Ms. Deusa was able to observe different cases, including contested family law cases, research complex legal issues, and assist in facilitating emergency hearings related to family matters.
Ms. Deusa earned her Bachelor of Arts, Degree, magna cum laude, in Political Science and Communication Studies from Caldwell University in 2018 and her Juris Doctorate from University of South Carolina School of Law in 2021. While in law school, Ms. Deusa was both a staff editor and student works editor on the South Carolina Journal of International Law and Business, where she received multiple awards. Ms. Deusa was also a member of the Women in Law Student Association, which included many community outreach programs.
Ms. Deusa served as a student attorney in the South Carolina School of Law Domestic Violence Clinic, which included assisting victims in navigating the legal system to obtain legal remedies to keep them safe, as well as applying for legal status through the proper immigration channels available to her clients due to their experience with domestic violence. Ms. Deusa also worked with local community non-profits to create simplified resources to explain the different options available for those in domestic violence situations.
Understanding that this is a highly emotional and difficult time and process for clients, Ms. Deusa provides empathetic and dedicated representation in all kinds of cases, from amicable to highly contested. She is familiar with all areas of family law including divorce, child custody, alimony, and child support.
Ms. Deusa is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ms. Deusa is a member of the Bar Association of Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Woman’s Bar Association. Ms. Deusa was named a Rising Star by Maryland’s Super Lawyers Magazine in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
